Seldom will you see water here... This is Lake Eyre, in South Australia. It is full only 3 times a century and has some water in it once a decade. This time last year it was full, now only a few inches remain.

I was fortunate enough to be there for this incredible sunset right at the waters edge. The entire surface of the ground is salt. Here is a photo you may remember me putting up a few months ago.

It was around a 10min walk from where that photo was taken right at the edge of the salt pan up to where this photo was taken right at the waters edge.

Hope you like it!

Yeh, it was pretty special to be there. Knowing there was water out there inspired me to go up the Oodnadatta track (a terrible dirt road) rather than the nice tarred one up to Uluru :)

As always, the colours come out in their full glory! The pale blue ground bleached here and there with the navy water looks wonderful under the roof wowen by many-coloured clouds. In short it's beautiful.
My favourite aspect of your work, Keep it up!

Before I had spent any time in South Australia's outback I thought it was all pretty boring and soft. But hanging out around that neck of the woods really showed me otherwise!

Whats at Roxby Downs? I remember seeing signage for it and seems to appear in alot of tourist info as well.

roxby's just a big mining town where BHP billiton is running the show these days... nothing spectacular, just a regular aussie mining town!
