Today. My. Eyes. Have. Been. Blown. W i d e. Open! And while I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, I truly am! You see up until today I have always captured using both RAW and JPEG, but only edited using the JPEGs. Sure there were times when I wanted to make a HDR image-so I would dig through the files for the one I was after and have at it. But for most of the RAW files it was off to the trash can once I had finished doing my post from the shoot.
Now I have known for awhile that the pros pretty much only use RAW but didn't that think that much of it. Until. I opened up a RAW image and did some very quick post on it. Basically just beefing up the saturation and the sharpness. I then applied those same parameters to the same JPEG image. I will let the results speak for themselves.

Can you guess which one was the RAW edit (one on the right)
Incredible!
JPEG, you have been good to me, but its time for me to move on.
